The days of only wearing your Halloween costume once seem to be over for today's kids. Instead, they get to wear it to school parties, multiple neighborhoods, and, now, if they're a St. Louis kid? To the top of the Arch.
The Gateway Arch is hosting its first-ever "trick or tram" Halloween event from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, October 26. The evening spooktacular will give families a rare treat: a nighttime view of the city from the top of the Arch.
Frights and Heights is a family-friendly event held inside the Arch museum and visitors center. Costumed history actors will roam the museum as kids collect candy and decorate a small pumpkin to take home. There will also be face painting and BOO-loon animals. The highlight of the evening will be a haunted tram ride to the top of the Arch. Keep an eye out the tram's window for not-so-spooky decorations inside the Arch's leg on your tram ride.
Visitors are welcome to wear family-friendly costumes to Frights and Heights. No weapons of any kind--real or pretend--will be allowed. This includes lightsabers, so dress accordingly. You'll also need to remove any masks when you go through security.

Frights and Heights takes place after normal visiting hours, so you will need to reserve your tickets online before entering the Arch.
Tickets to Frights & Heights is $17 per person. Kids 2 and younger are free. Please note: when you buy your tickets you will select your tram ride time, with options from 6:40 to 8:55 p.m. Both the North and South trams will be running for this event.
Remember, visitors must now enter the Arch at monument’s west entrance plaza, which faces west toward the Old Courthouse. The Arch legs are exits only. Visit getaroundstl.com to find a great parking spot.
