Haven't visited the National Blues Museum yet? Make it a family affair by taking Mom this weekend.
Visit the city’s newest museum for Mother’s Day. The National Blues Museum celebrates the music, history, and culture of St. Louis. There are plenty of hands-on experiences, too; kids can play in a jug band or write their own blues masterpiece. $15 adults, $10 ages 5–17, free kids under 5. May 6–8: Art Fair at Laumeier Sculpture Park
Enjoy a St. Louis tradition by strolling through art in the park. One hundred and fifty artists will set up shop in Laumeier Sculpture Park. They'll exhibit and sell ceramics, jewelry, paintings, sculpture, and more. A special kids' corner will include hands-on crafts. May 7–8: Strawberry Festival
It's strawberry season at Eckert’s! Load up the car, and have some farm-fresh fun for Mother’s Day. Pick berries, take a pony ride, pet farm animals, and enjoy lunch and live music on Eckert’s patio. Free. 10 a.m.–5 p.m. Belleville Farm, 951 S. Green Mount, Belleville, Illinois.
May 7: Listen to Your Mother
Sit back and enjoy the tales of motherhood, shared by talented local writers. "Listen to Your Mother" is a national-wide event that gives moms the microphone in 41 cities. The show’s co-producer/co-director Laura Edwards-Ray explains: “The variety of stories will make you laugh or make you cry, but they all leave you feeling inspired... If you have an ovary, used to have an ovary, or know somebody with one, then you qualify to love the show.” $16. 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. St. Luke’s Institute for Health Education, 232 S. Woods Mill.
May 8: Brunch at the Brewery
Enjoy a special Mother’s Day buffet with the all the trimmings at the brewery’s outdoor beer garden.
