Celebrations of the St. Louis Blues winning the Stanley Cup are far from over. Now, St. Louisans have a new way to honor their favorite hockey team—and it's really fitting for fall.
Eckert's Millstadt Farm, in Millstadt, Illinois, has unveiled a Stanley Cup–themed corn maze.
Prior to the team winning the championship, Amanda Morgan, marketing director at Eckert’s, says the farm reached out to the St. Louis Blues marketing team and asked if they could use the team's logo for the forthcoming maze.
“The conversation kind of went, well let’s discuss this after the final games happen so, of course, they ended up winning. At that time, we asked if we were able to incorporate the Blues logo and the Stanley Cup logo into the corn maze,” Morgan says.
So, over the summer, Maize Quest, a corn maze design company that travels across the United States, spent just a few short hours cutting the 12-acre maze into the Millstadt cornfield.
Maize Quest has worked with Eckert’s in the past to create other neat maze cutouts. The farm has featured logos for the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Saint Louis Science Center, and Scott Air Force Base.
So far, the maze design has sparked buzz on social media, but it officially opens this Saturday, September 7. The farm will also have a Blues Day featuring the Blues Crew and their street team on Saturday, September 21, 11 a.m.–2 p.m. A portion of the ticket sales will go toward the Blues Foundation.
“What a great time for St. Louis and the team," Morgan says of the farm's tribute to the 2019 Stanley Cup Champions, adding that ultimately they just want to "honor and celebrate the accomplishments that they made." Happy mazing!
