Art Hack Day Eclipse

Art and tech event, Art Hack Day, brings the event to St. Louis August 17-19 in a special Eclipse edition, which will be hosted in the Cortex District (4240 Duncan Ave). The event will showcase hackers whose medium is art and artists whose medium is tech, creating new mixed media. The event producers aim to bring greater attention to St. Louis arts and culture and to make the area an international art hub through innovative programming. The event has previously taken place in New York, Paris, Stockholm, Berlin, Seattle, Montreal, and San Francisco.
Forty artists-hackers and hacker-artists will inhabit Cortex to create an exhibit from scratch during a 48 hour time period. Starting on Thursday evening with a Meet and Greet with provide food, fast Internet, and equipment for collaborating and creating new work on. Then, on Saturday evening the space will transition from hackspace to exhibition hall and the projects will be shown to the public during a flash exhibit for just one evening. There will be no art demonstrations but plenty of performances. Art Hack Day will not just be a day but a special weekend exploring the ways which integrative thinking can have a positive impact on our society. This event is free and open to all.
