“This is a really, really big deal,” Harris-Stowe University president Dr. Henry Givens Jr. said at the dedication of the university’s first residence hall, 150 years after its founding as Harris Teachers College and 22 years after its designation as a historically black college. The new hall has 59 suites, a computer lab, fitness center, game room, bookstore and commons with slick modern couches and flat-screen TVs.
