"Get up, baby, get up!" Just about the entire Shannon clan, accompanied by former Cardinals teammates, fellow broadcasters and Cards top brass, turned out at Mike Shannon's Steaks & Seafood to celebrate the sportsman's legacy before the official pre-game ceremony at Busch Stadium. Shannon, born and raised in St. Louis, signed with the Cards in 1958, playing a key role on three Cardinals World Series teams before moving up to the team's front office in 1971 and into the broadcast booth the following year. The Cards' home finale proved a fitting tribute, as the team bested the Houston Astros 4-3.
