It’s hard to pick the best part of Food Wine Design, but this year The Grand Finale was a night to remember. Guests arrived to an elegant red carpet for a final evening, were greeted with cocktails created by Joe Duepner of Juniper, and admired the luxury Lexus vehicles.
The sight awaiting guests as they walked into the dining room was stunning, with all eyes going to the center of the room where Kate & Company had exquisitely decorated the VIP table. Along the entire length of the table was an ombred floral piece ranging from bright colors of pink and red to orange, with candles placed among it. The guests at this table had a special surprise when they found that their chairs were personalized with their names. The surrounding tables were also eye catching with centerpieces filled with vibrant pink and orange flowers provided by Flowers and Weeds.
Dinner soon began, consisting of a four-course meal combining the talents of chefs John Perkins of Juniper and Ivy Magruder of Gamlin Whiskey House. The first course consisted of low country salad with cornbread panzanella paired with the wine selection of Azur Rose' 2013. This was followed by chicken skin-wrapped scallop, dijon scallop with pork belly, and dandelion greens. To add to the already flavorful course, guests were served wine selections from Nicholson Jones. The evening continued as the third and fourth course were equally delicious, but the highlight was the NJ White Label Cab 2010. Stella Artois paired perfectly with each course. A brief pause came in the celebration to listen to a speaker share the message about Mercy Autism Center, and donations were taken to support the cause. Before the evening came to an end, party-goers could dance the night away to the R&B sounds of Mo-E and Coco Soul. Once again Food Wine Design proved to be a week full of the best our city has to offer, and an event you just can’t miss. Check out Party Pics HERE.
