Tuesday night of Food Wine Design was another great evening. The Lexus cocktail hour welcomed guests with a luxury vehicle lined red carpet. Jayne Pellegrino of Blood & Sand created two signature cocktails with the help o fSpirits of Saint Louis. Her libations complimented the night’s theme of Farm-to- Fork perfectly introducing fresh citrus ingredients seemingly squeezed directly from their stems into a glass. With added touches of fresh ginger and mint each cocktail prepped guest’s palates for a sensational meal to come.
Guests took their seats in awe of the VIP table that was a focal point in the room. Stückenschneider Decoration & Design captured the essence of rustic elegance, transporting those seated from downtown St. Louis to a plantation estate dining experience. Silver candelabras and mismatched chairs contrasted both ornate and simple. Admiring their surroundings, anticipation grew as Jimmy Voss of Nathalie's and Anthony Devoti of Five Bistro explained what they had in store for the evening.
The First course began with a Wild Mushroom Agnolotti en Brodo with carrot tapenade and shaved Ludwig Sangamon cheese. James Hallet of Major Brands explained the wine pairing details as guests sipped Louis Jadot Chardonnay. Second course was Age of Asparagus Salad with farm pickled beets and radishes along with Smoked Trout Cakes and asparagus vinaigrette that paired perfectly with the Louis Jadot Pinot Noir. Guests were also able to enjoy a beer pairing of Goose Island Sofie with dinner. Third and Fourth course did not disappoint while in between guests snapped their fingers to Whiskey Morning Band. The evening’s charity partner was Food Outreach. More than raised over four thousand dollars was raised to help those who go hungry in the St. Louis Area. Tuesday night was another huge success on all levels as we head into the third night of Food Wine Design, check out the party pics from Tuesday here.
