ST. LOUIS, MO – February 18, 2009 – St. Louis Magazine’s AT HOME proudly presents the second annual AT HOME Architect & Design Awards contest, a competition for local interior designers, architects, artisans, builders and landscape artists. For 2009, the panel of judges consists of six nationally known design professionals who will review all submissions and select the winners. Winners will be named in the November/December 2009 issue of AT HOME and awards will be presented at a reception set for Thursday, October 22, 2009.
The judges panel of the 2009 AT HOME Architect and Design Award competition consists of the following nationally known design professionals: Jonathan Adler, designer and lead judge on Bravo’s Top Design TV show; Marlon Blackwell, award-winning architect and professor at the University of Arkansas; Stephen Drucker, the editor of House Beautiful magazine; Sam Grawe, the editor of DWELL magazine; Charlotte Moss, New York-based interior designer and author; and Ron Radziner, award-winning architect and design principal of Los Angeles’ Marmol Radziner and Associates. “The 2008 AT HOME Architect and Design Awards was the first year we expanded it to include designers and the first time we solicited the help of judges living outside St. Louis,” says Christy Marshall, editor-in-chief of St. Louis Magazine's AT HOME. “We received more than 115 entries. This year, with a judges panel of even more superstars, I predict the number and quality of entrants will increase again. This contest is a great way for local talent to get national critiques—and exposure. St. Louis has so many great designers and architects. It's nice to be able to show them off to some of the biggest names in the industry.”
The competition is open to all local design, architect and landscape firms. Entry forms are available online at www.stlmagathome.com or by calling 314.918.3026. The competition is open to both firms and individuals who have completed work in Missouri, but it is also open to entries of work completed elsewhere. There are 23 categories in total covering home, outdoor and interior design. Submissions are due to AT HOME by May 5, 2009. In 2008, the first year for the contest, AT HOME received over 115 entries and presented awards in 19 categories to 31 local companies.
