Local celebrities showcased their hot dancing skills at the Dancing with the St. Louis Stars event benefiting the Independence Center, a center that provides programs and support for the health and wellbeing of adults living with mental illness. This year’s event was as big and bright as ever as local celebrities moved and grooved, raising over $305,000 for the center. All the dancing teams dazzled the audience, but the dance duo that took home the gold this year was Ron Kruszewski, CEO of Stifel Nicolaus and his professional dance partner, Lucy Fitzgerald. Other St. Louis stars competing in the competition included Pat Whitaker, CEO of Arcturis; Kent Christian, President, Financial Services Group at Wells Fargo Advisors; Melanie Moon, KPLR Channel II anchor; Ann Marr, Vice President of World Wide Technology, Inc.; and Steve Name, Independence Center member. Partnering with the local stars included professional dancers Spiro Marko, Angi Heien, Steve Brockman, Michael Fitzgerald, and Angela Brooks, respectively.
Guests enjoyed cocktails, dinner, music, and a chance to vote for their favorite dancing duo. Deciding on the winning team was also the task of local celebrity judges, Arnold Donald, Monica Adams, Leslie Tunney, and Reggie Van Derson. St. Louis Magazine Style Editor Jan Leach was also among the attendees to crown a guest St. Louis' Best Dressed.
