Last night, June 28th, the Humane Society of Missouri held the 7th annual Purses & Pumps for Pooches & Pals event, presented by Brown Shoe Company. All funds raised from the evening will benefit the Animal Cruelty Fund, whose purpose is to prevent and heal animal abuse in the St. Louis area.
Over 500 guests attended the event, which included tasting from over twenty of the areas finest restaurants and specialty drinks. “This was the largest attendance we’ve ever had,” explained Jeane Jae, vice president of communications for HSMO. “The food was fantastic.”
In addition to sampling savory food, guests participated in a 32-item silent auction and a raffle that included twenty-three designer purses and four shoe wardrobes.
The evening featured many loveable animals to adpot. “We even had one adoption last night,” Jae said.
The event committee included co-chairs COO Pam Nicholson, Enterprise Rent-A-Car; Diane Sullivan, Brown Shoe Company; and Judy Gruender, Buck Consultants.
