After many cans of paint, tons of glitter, and hundreds of little rhinestones, our butterfly (appropriately named Glitter-fly) is complete! Our butterfly is one of 54 butterflies being designed as a part of the Wings in the City public art project. The butterflies will be debuted at a private event on October 9 at the World's Fair Pavilion and then the public is invited to see them on October 10. Read more about these events here. After the weekend-long celebration, the butterflies will go in their cocoons for the winter, and will return in the Spring of 2011, displayed throughout the city. The Wings in the City public art program benefits Wings, a pediatric hospice program.
We hope you love our Glitter-Fly and we hope you will join us to celebrate the debut of all 54 beautiful butterflies on October 9!
