Last night, Wednesday, August 15, St. Louis Magazine launched its September issue with a bang at our Fashion Soiree at the Contemporary Art Museum. It was an evening of fabulous food, friends, and fashion. As expected, all 400 guests were dressed to the nines and checking out each other's fashionable frocks. Several good candidates for our 2013 Best Dressed list were in the crowd and we took notice.
Cocktails by Mastermind Vodka and Peroni were complimented with hors d’oeuvres and desserts that preceded the New York-style runway presentation of the fall trends with music by Carlos Suarez. The show was emceed and styled by SLM Style Editor Jan Leach with fashions from Esther, Ivy Hill, Mister Guy, and Moris Fashions. Some of the common themes on the runway included black lace, embellishments, and colored denim for fall. A stunning long, red dress from Esther earned many whistles from the crowd that lined the runway and others who watched from above. The fashion show concluded with some spectacular looks that will get you noticed as you cheer on the Rams this season. The new Nike Saint Louis Rams tees and jerseys were styled with yellow clutches, long sweaters, denim jackets, and more.
Following the show, Jan Leach and Publisher Leslie Tunney announced the 2012 Best Dressed Honorees. The honorees included Joan Lee Berkman, Saskya Emmink-Byron, Amie Corley, Bill Donius, Anthony Grice, Steven Jackson, Emily Brady Koplar, Nicole Nester, Philip Slein, and TJ Vytlacil. Each honoree was presented with a gift box, filled with fabulous goodies. While cover model and honoree Steven Jackson wasn't there (he was at a practice that ran late... right where we want him, right?!), his sister Rhonda accepted the gift in his place and giggled as many partygoers posed for pictures with the life-size poster of the magazine cover featuring Jackson.
It was a glamorous evening with a fashionable crowd!
