After all the hype and hustle, the Dada Ball & Bash, held last Saturday night at the Contemporary Art Museum, has come and gone—but has definitely not been forgotten! This fundraising event of the year star-struck guests from the second they stepped inside until the last song they danced to. With outlandish costumes fitting the "surreal black tie" and "creative cockney" themes and inspired by the current Contemporary Art Museum St. Louis exhibition, Jeremy Deller: Joy in People, nearly 750 fashionable guests attended.
After posing for St. Louis Magazine's paparazzi on the red carpet, guests made their way inside to enjoy beer from Budweiser Select and Beck's Sapphire and take in the enthralling exhibition, as well as the eccentric costumes that were shown off all evening. During a superb sit-down dinner in an enormous tent on Spring Street, guests had the opportunity to take part in a lively auction, where works of art by Michelle Grabner, Scott King, and so many more were sold in order to benefit charity. The event raised an outstanding $430,000 to support education and exhibition programming at CAM.
Then just when it was thought that there couldn't possibly be anything more extravagant in the evening, the Dada Bash began with savory bites from The Wildflower. As the night rolled on, Neiman Marcus Fashion Director Ken Downing introduced a runway show featuring over-the-top fashions. Our favorite part was the tiaras that the models sported in style! And as the silent auction full of artistic masterpieces came to a close, the lively and shy personalities alike took part in a tremendous dance party that lasted into the wee hours of the morning.
Without a doubt, the Dada Ball & Bash at CAM blew the minds of all who attended, and is still ringing in their heads from only nights ago. The party is still the talk of the town—to see who was there, check out the party pics for yourself, and relive all of the wild moments with St. Louis Magazine again and again.
