The award-winning Charter Taste of St. Louis is being held next weekend, Friday, September 28, 4 P.M. to 11 P.M.; Saturday, the 29, 11 A.M. to 11 P.M.; and Sunday, the 30, 11 A.M. to 9 P.M. at Soldiers’ Memorial located at 12th and Market! You can’t miss this annual event of the best food, art, music, and culture the city has to offer. This year’s event features an array of activities for patrons of all ages.
This year’s taste will feature over 45 St. Louis area restaurants from Sauce Magazine’s Restaurant Row. Patrons can purchase cuisine from the magnificent culinary talent St. Louis has to offer. Menu items include anything you can imagine and beyond and usually range from $3-$7.
The Chef Battle Royale culinary competition is an event you’re gonna have to see to believe! The contest presented by Stella Artois features eight of the St. Louis area’s top chefs hand-selected by the Taste of St. Louis Culinary Committee to participate in seven 45 minute head-to-head battles! The chefs will prepare their best dishes in each category in front of a live audience and only one chef will emerge victorious. Last year’s winner was Chef Wes Johnson of Fixe who will return this year to defend his title. Join us at the Bunge Culinary Stage located at 13th and Chestnut to find out who is this year’s Chef Battle Royale Champion.
Charter Taste of St. Louis not only promises food, but music as well. Charter is presenting a free concert by The All-American Rejects on Saturday night! In addition, the Charter Center Stage will see action all weekend long from local and national talent sure to impress including Macy Gray and Taj Mahal.
This year’s Kid City promises to be its best yet with fun and educational activities for the whole family from 11 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. on Saturday and Sunday. It’s the ultimate family event helping parents maximize their time with their children while enjoying fun-filled family adventures.
New this year at the 2012 taste is an exclusive Grand Tasting Event at the Peabody Opera House. It takes place on Saturday and includes tastings of 19 restaurants for one great price. Tickets are only $39 in advance or $50 at the door. Also, you can buy tickets for the VIP Lounge for just $50 which includes 3 drink tickets, upscale hors d’oeurves, music from the Charter Center Stage and elevated views of the event in a unique VIP atmosphere on the terrace of the Soldiers’ Memorial Museum.
