For the last 60 years, UCP Heartland has helped to enhance the quality of life for those with cerebral palsy and other disabilities, their families, and their communities. On Thursday August 21st, United Cerebral Palsy Heartland will hold the 4th Annual Wing Ding in Queeny Park at the Greensfelder Complex, presented by The Roach Law Firm. The event will begin at 6 p.m. with 22 area restaurants including EdgeWild Restaurant & Winery, The Salted Pig, J. Greenes and Three Kings Public House. Each restaurant will serve up their best wing in several categories in hopes of winning bragging rights of “Best Wings”. A blind tasting by local celebrity judges will provide an even playing field for each wing submitted. Some of the judges include April Simpson of Fox 2 News, Angela Ortmann the St. Louis Wine Girl, and George Mahe and Joe Bonwich of St. Louis Magazine. Attendees will also get to try all the wings entered, and cast their vote for favorite wing of the evening.
Tickets are being sold now, and will continue to be sold until August 15th. Tickets will also be available at the door for an increased price. General Admission tickets are $20, $25 after August 15th, and include general seating, two beverage tickets and wing sampling. This year at Wing Ding there will be a VIP section. The VIP ticket is $45, $50 after August 15th, and with it guests receive reserved VIP seating, wing sampling and unlimited beverages. The whole family is invited to Wing Ding 2014! Tickets will be sold at the door for children ages 6-12 cost is $10, and young adults ages 13-20 cost is $15. Children 5 and under will receive free admission.
All proceeds from Wing Ding will benefit the programs and services of UCP Heartland, where their mission is to provide the highest quality programs, services and supports while advancing the independence, productivity and full citizenship of all individuals with disabilities.
