Each year, St. Louis Magazine, locals, and tourists alike immerse themselves in the beauty of downtown St. Louis on a day that has influenced not only the city, but the Susan G. Komen Foundation and all that the organization stands for. The Susan G. Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure, presented locally by Wells Fargo Advisors, has celebrated 15 years of inspiration, hope, and impact while fighting for a cure against breast cancer, and on Saturday, June 15, the chance to walk and run for an important cause will rise again.
The Komen Race for the Cure has ignited in cities across the United States over the years, St. Louis prides itself on how influential and exciting this event can really be. With almost $610,000 raised so far for the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and over three weeks until race day, support will only continue to grow—and you can be a part of it all!
Whether you're best at running alone, with a team, at your own pace, or with time on the clock, you're helping a great cause. When signing up individually or on a team, registration is only $30 for the fun run/walk, and only $35 when participating in the timed run. At any pace, the excitement and enthusiasm can be felt everywhere. And if a pair of running shoes isn't your best accessory, or if you hold Saturday mornings as a precious time to sleep in, the Susan G. Komen Foundation has an option to Sleep In for the Cure! Still supporting the fight for a cure against breast cancer, a $30 donation will allow you to still receive a t-shirt from the race, and cheer on those involved from the comfort of your own bed. 75% of net funds raised here in St. Louis stays in the 17-county Missouri/Illinois area to fund breast health and breast cancer screening, education, and patient navigation programs.
With so many ways to be involved in Race for the Cure, and with so many women affected by life-threatening breast cancer, it's an easy decision to join in on June 15 and run, walk, support, or sleep. Not only does it benefit an organization that has inspired the St. Louis area for 15 years, the memories made and fun that you'll have are more than worth it. So get out there and start this summer off right! To sign up for the Susan G. Komen St. Louis Race for the Cure or Sleep In for the Cure, or for more information and other ways to help, click HERE.
