Cooking Classes at Companion
It’s hardly an overstatement to say that Companion’s teaching kitchen has something for everybody. There are five bread baking classes (baguettes, whole grain, Italian breads, sourdough, and seasonal breads; four pastry classes (croissants, seasonal sweets, holiday cookies, plus cinnamon rolls and coffee cakes); culinary classes led by renowned chef Cassy Vires (right), and cooking camp classes for kids and teens. Beginning in May, classes will be held at Companion’s new café and baking headquarters in Maryland Heights. For details, click here. 2331 Schuetz, 314-627-5257.
HOT SPOT
Benedict Bonanza
The Central West End has long been a hot spot for Sunday brunch, and apparently the same can be said for that brunch staple, eggs Benedict, with 15 different varieties available at just four restaurants: Wild Flower Restaurant has five varieties, Herbie’s Vintage '72 has four, Scape has three, and The Tavern has three.

You've Got Mail
Many restaurant websites contain the owner's or manager’s email addresses to facilitate correspondence. Patrons sometime use it to lodge a complaint and never hear back from anyone, even with a follow-up. They get even angrier, likely choose never to return, and speak poorly of the restaurant. Restaurant owners should realize that inattention to such emails can be a slow killer.
