Wintertime goodness in a bowl: 808 Maison's garlicky bourride (seafood stew) with root vegetables
The following list is accurate as of a late January press date. A condensed version will be published in SLM's March 2019 issue.
Editor’s Note: After last month's wacky anomaly, a sense of normalcy returned to this page this month, with restaurant openings outpacing closings by roughly a 2:1 margin. While the closing of the venerable West End Grill & Pub was unfortunate, we were told that young, able operators would soon take over the space. Regarding openings, a new French restaurant, 808 Maison, opened stealthily, while Adam Altnether and Chris Kelling's highly-anticipated Elmwood opened to an expected chorus of trumpets and huzzahs. The biggest news of the month, however, occurred on its final day, when restaurateur Dave Bailey switched concepts — during dinner service! — transforming L'Acadiane into POP, a bubbles-themed restaurant that ventures well beyond champagne.
Changes and additions after publication date are in boldface.
