The inaugural Whiskey in the Winter festival was billed as "150-plus whiskeys, one memorable night." The sixth annual event will be equally memorable, to be sure, partly because it will boast more than 400 whiskies, including single malt and blended Scotch, bourbon, Irish, Tennessee, Canadian, Missouri, Japanese, and other international whiskeys.
The brainchild of Amit Dhawan of Synergy Productions, the festival has grown into one of the largest whiskey celebrations in the country. One reason for its popularity is its appeal to both whiskey novices and aficionados. With more than 400 offerings (see last year's list here), Dhawan's claim to have "something for everyone" is no idle boast.
As in past years, the event will be held in the fourth-floor Grand Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency St. Louis at The Arch from 7 to 10:30 p.m. (VIP entry starts at 6:15 p.m.)
In addition to the grand tasting, the evening will feature seminars by industry experts, whiskey-themed food stations created by Hyatt chefs, and top-shelf whiskey cocktails from St. Louis’ leading mixologists.
Tickets are $35 for designated drivers, $95 for general admission, and $125 for VIP, which includes early access and a healthy pour of a prestigious “Golden Ticket” whiskey. Purchase tickets beginning September 28 at the event website—and do so quickly, as the event sells out every year.
