Brunch isn't just for Sundays anymore.
Sardella, Gerard Craft's alluring restaurant in downtown Clayton, announced today it will now serve brunch seven days a week from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. The restaurant previously only served its brunch menu on Sundays. Craft said in a statement that the new hours better accommodate the restaurant's guests.
“We’re embracing this thought of ‘first brunch, then hustle,'" he said. "Everyone has busy lives during the week, but brunch hours give our guests’ flexibility between meal periods. We want to be the place that you can host a mid-morning meeting over coffee and a pastry or sit back and enjoy a long lunch with friends before life’s craziness ensues.”
When Sardella debuted in the former home of Craft's lauded Niche, in November 2016, it initially served breakfast beginning at 7 a.m. before rolling out lunch service. The new brunch menu now combines some of Sardella's breakfast and lunch offerings like yogurt and granola, a soup of the day, three salads and sandwiches, and an antipasti plate of roasted vegetables, market cheese, and conserves. Its Sunday brunch favorites from executive chef Ashley Shelton, like Cacio e Pepe Eggs and Eggs Benedict Raviolo, will remain.
On the beverage side, diners can still enjoy Sump Coffee, fresh juices, and drinks made with Big Heart Tea Co. products.
After brunch concludes at 2 p.m, Sardella's bar will open at 4 p.m. with dinner beginning at 5 p.m. The restaurant will stay open until 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 9 p.m. on Sunday.
Craft also announced that he will host a Small Business Brunch next Friday, February 23 at Sardella. From noon to 12:30 p.m., he will chat with diners about his entrepreneurial story and working with St. Louis business leaders, then take questions. Reservations for the event can be made on OpenTable or by calling 314-773-7755.
