(Like chocolate turtles, on a grander scale)
- Pecan halves
- Softened caramel
- Dark chocolate
- White chocolate
(Assemble your ingredient amounts based on number of tortoises you want to make; see amounts for individual candies below.)
To assemble the tortoise, place three pecan halves on parchment paper with three ends touching each other in the form of a star. Place 1 ounce of softened caramel on the three pecan halves, then drizzle 1 tablespoon white chocolate over caramel. Repeat the steps, leaving off the white chocolate.. Place second layer on top of first layer with white chocolate. Cover tortoise with 1 tablespoon of dark melted chocolate, then drizzle white chocolate over the top and let set until firm.
