Nadoz at The Boulevard transitions to Deer Creek Coffee
The Boulevard storefront will launch (quietly, at first) on Friday, April 6. “The menu is a little new, a little from Nadoz, and a little from Deer Creek,” says owner Kent McCarty.
The signs, they are a-changing.
By week's end, Nadoz Café + Catering on The Boulevard in Richmond Heights will officially be Deer Creek Coffee.
According to Kent McCarty, who took over Deer Creek in 2016 and Nadoz in 2017, The Boulevard storefront will launch (quietly, at first) on Friday, April 6.
“We’re opening the doors to friends and family,” McCarty says. “We’ll have a complimentary breakfast and lunch for residents and employees of The Boulevard. That way, people can come in, try the new recipes, and let us know what they think.
“The menu is a little new, a little from Nadoz, and a little from Deer Creek,” McCarty continues. “We’ll see what works, tweak, then debut matching menus at both locations in the next several weeks.”
The one thing that will remain on both menus: the house-made baked goods, including the classic Deer Creek chocolate chip banana bread. For the time being, the baker from the original Deer Creek will provide pastries for both locations.
As for changes, McCarty says Nadoz faithful should expect a newly renovated interior that seats about 50, as well as a private event space for about the same number of people, which can host showers, business lunches, holiday parties, and the like. The part-time catering director from Nadoz is now a full-time catering director for Deer Creek. “We can handle on-site and off, and work with just about any budget,” says McCarty.
Though Monday will technically be Deer Creek’s opening day, the café will be open to foot traffic over the weekend, 8 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday. Going forward, McCarty plans to work toward 7 a.m.–7 p.m. hours on weekdays—though, he quips, that will only happen “if the weather ever gets better.”
