If you were one of the “Lucky” ones who received an email from the group behind The Lucky Accomplice, then you learned that the team is reviving their other concept, SHIFT, for a short run of pop-up dinners in November.
The original slots, November 3–7, quickly booked up, but more dates are in the works. “It’s amazing that we have such interest, but we also hate disappointing those who can’t get in," says chef Logan Ely. "We are already meeting to discuss more seatings and dates." (Pro Tip: If you aren’t already on the email list, then you can add your address on the restaurant's Tock page. Updates are also being posted via the restaurant's Instagram page.)
The events will be fine dining and tasting-style with a pre-set menu. (Note: Due to the nature of the menu, dietary restrictions cannot be accommodated.) Beverage pairings of wine, beer, and cocktails will be crafted and offered by bar manager Corey Moszer, including a nonalcoholic pairing option, featuring mocktails and nonalcoholic wines and beer options.
The dinners will be hosted in The Lucky Accomplice space (2501 S. Jefferson). Limited seatings will take place hourly, taking safety and style of service into consideration.

So what motivated Ely to temporarily “relaunch” the SHIFT concept? It’s as simple as a chef’s desire for a change of pace, revisiting a more upscale dining style, an opportunity for newer employees to learn, and, ultimately, a new level of fun for both guests and staff.
While Ely admits that he currently has “no idea” what the menu will include, guests can be sure it will be inspired by locally sourced ingredients. The tasting menu offerings will be based on the same courses each night, but Ely anticipates some daily tweaks as he fine-tunes.
SHIFT (formerly known as Savage) opened in 2018 to critical and community acclaim, landing among the 50 nominees for Bon Appetit’s 10 Best New Restaurants the following year. The fine-dining restaurant made the decision to take a hiatus in September 2020, during the pandemic. At the same time, however, sister restaurant The Lucky Accomplice opened just blocks away, offering a more casual atmosphere and experience while retaining the creativity and flawless execution of dishes and drinks.
