A strange donut assortment, indeed--Campfire s’mores, maple bacon long johns, and gooey butter-- all from Strange Donuts

The best of the Strange bunch: a bismarck filled with nacho cheese, drizzled with ranch dressing, then topped with crushed Nacho Cheese Doritos and a Buffalo chicken tender. With all components eaten together in the same bite, it's surprisingly good.

Borrowing a bit from Bruce Springsteen... "the heart-stopping, hard-rocking, booty-shaking, earth-quaking, justifying, death-defying, legendary"...BLT sandwich (half of it, anyway), from Crown Candy Kitchen.

Football season also ushers in soup season: from 1111 Mississippi, a very tasty butternut squash soup accented with a bit of creme fraiche.

The St. Louis Rams home season kicks off Sunday, September 7 at noon, when the Rams take on the Minnesota Vikings.
Where can you find food from Crown Candy Kitchen, Strange Donuts, Sugarfire Smoke House, Gus’ Pretzels, Eleven Eleven Mississippi, and Vin de Set, all under one roof – or dome, as it were?
That would be the Edward Jones Dome, where the St. Louis Rams have embarked on a revamping of their gourmet-concessions options, and welcomed a half-dozen of our burg’s signature restaurants to ply their treats.
The new “St. Louis Street Eats” options at the Dome include:
-Crown Candy Kitchen’s infamous Heart Stopping BLT, featuring a pound (that’s 17 slices) of bacon, lettuce, tomato, and Miracle Whip served on Texas toast, plus handmade chocolates like the Heavenly-Hash-on-a-stick
-Strange Donuts’ gooey butter donut, maple bacon bar, Campfire s’more donut, waffle-and-chicken donut, and a real surprise, the tastier-than-you-think Buffalo-chicken donut, aka “the Fifth Down.” That last one is a donut made with a barely-sweet dough, stuffed with nacho cheese and topped with ranch dressing, Nacho Cheese Doritos crumbles, and a large Buffalo chicken tender.
-Gus’ Pretzels’ chewy pretzel bites with bratwurst bites
-Sugarfire Smoke House’s brisket cheesesteak sandwich (alas, pulled pork is a sad poseur) and spicy smoked andouille sausage
-Sweetie Pie’s smoked turkey legs, mac and cheese, and fruit cobblers (the lawyers are still working this one out, but we’re assured it will happen)
In the exclusive Club Level of the Dome, you can try a pleasantly gooey Croque Monsieur and an “Alsatian Tarte Flambe” by Vin de Set; and a porchetta sandwich served on a delightfully crusty ciabatta bread, with an au jus sauce for dipping, plus a very tasty butternut squash soup, bright with sweet notes of vanilla, both by Eleven Eleven Mississippi.
“It’s great for us, plus having these sorts of local-based concessions helps them with attention and sales outside of the Dome, too,” said Executive Chef Rory Bancroft of the Delaware North Sportservice concession corporation.
Other new items and returning faves include:
-at “The Slice,” a jaw-dropping 18” slice of pizza, cut into six pieces (available in pepperoni or cheese)
-at “Carnero’s Cantina,” a taco salad, nachos, and a Taco Trio of three softshell tacos with either nacho-flavored beef or pulled chicken
-at the “Greatest Show Grill,” nachos made atop tortilla chips, regular potato chips, or tater tots (yes, tater tots)
-at the “Go For 2 Tavern,” hand-rolled pretzels with toppings like cinnamon-sugar, chocolate-and-caramel, parmesan cheese, and a bacon pretzel served with cheddar sauce
-at “Lou-Q,” items created by Bandana’s BBQ
See below for a complete list of all the food choices at each Delaware North Sportservice concession area within the Edward Jones Dome during this season of Rams home games:
Note: Hot dogs, pretzels, popcorn, and Dr. Pepper are located throughout.
