St. Louis area sports fans know the Hotshots brand well. With 12 locations throughout the region and franchises in North Carolina and Arkansas, the name is synonymous with a place to grab a beer and catch the game.
The franchise is giving one of its locations a new neighbor. Under the auspices of the same ownership, construction is well underway on Stone Summit Steak & Seafood. But this new restaurant will look more like Hotshots’ distant cousin than a sibling.
“We’re hoping to fill a void in the Wentzville market,” says Justin Boyd, director of marketing and digital for Hotshots.
The owners’ goal: offer area diners a good steak option in a setting somewhere between white tablecloths and peanut shells on the floor at Stone Summit Steak & Seafood.
“There are a lot of great places in St. Louis,” Boyd explains. “But we have a great market in Wentzville – people who have lived there forever and young families just getting a start. Sometimes, driving toward the city is just too far to go for a good meal.”
They’re in the process of filling key positions, but the owners’ imaginations are already hard at work on the menu. Expect a bone-in pork chop, which Boyd says will be called the “Tomahawk Chop,” in addition to the steak and seafood offerings.
“For some, it will be a place to go for a nice dinner on a Wednesday night; for others, we’ll be there for a special birthday or anniversary celebration.”
With that in mind, he promises an enviable wine list, a reliable porterhouse or filet, as well as Summit Plates - a budget friendly option that still offers a good dose of meat and potatoes (or variations thereof).
“It’s a brand new concept, with a lot of options,” he promises. They will have a beer menu, for sure, but also some craft cocktail offerings at the bar.
Stone Summit Steak & Seafood, next door to Hotshots in Wentzville Bluffs, is targeting a late spring, early summer launch.
