Sour Power
First rule of Buttermilk Club: tell other people about Buttermilk Club. If you like the sour tang of buttermilk, you’ll flip over the buttermilk ice cream on the dessert menu at Juniper. It’s sour, it’s sweet, it’s fresh, and it’s available for only the next several weeks, before Juniper’s fall menu makes its official debut. Get it while it’s cold.
The Pumpkins Are Coming! The Pumpkins Are Coming!
Go ahead, get it out of your system – make fun of the pumpkin-spiced everything that will soon be commandeering every menu in town. Some of us are down with this Squash of the Moment, and that includes Chef Wil Pelly at Sanctuaria. His Pumpkin Pie Empanadas with cinnamon cream are adorable, no-muss, no-fuss, delicious pumpkin hand pies. He’s been making them annually for the last five years from October through December, and some people even put in a bulk order for their Thanksgiving celebrations.
Perennial’s Third Annual
Autumn is a great time to celebrate St. Louis’ thriving, independent craft-beer scene, and the Perennial Artisan Ales Third Anniversary Party will be a humdinger. On October 18, the brewpub throws a celebration with food by Quincy Street Bistro; Peacemaker Lobster & Crab Co.; Salume Beddu; Strange Donuts; Ices, Plain and Fancy; and more. Guests will of course drink limited-edition beers, including collaborations like the Perennial/Farmhaus Brew for the Crew, Barrel-Aged Perennial/Sump Coffee Stout, Perennial/ Annie Gunn's Trixie, and many, many more. Tickets include “all food, beers, gratuity, tax and a guaranteed good time.”
