St. Louis Blues legend Brett Hull will put his name to a $4.3 million sports bar and restaurant that is nearing completion on the outskirts of Wentzville.
Brett Hull’s Junction House is slated to open at 1311 Lodora Drive, alongside Interstate 70, in early October. (In the early 1990s, when Hull was with the Blues, he was involved in a prior venture, Brett Hull's Restaurant & Grill, with locations in Chesterfield and at Union Station.)
Brett Hull’s Junction House will unfold across a huge, multi-level space. The venue will be divided into three main areas: a restaurant, a covered patio, and a 1,500-square-foot open-air rooftop deck. Each of these areas will offer a full-service bar. Construction is nearing completion at the sprawling venue, which spans 9,400 square feet.

When Wentzville-based entrepreneur and owner Keith Horneker announced plans for the venue in late March, it was known simply as Junction House. At the time, Junction House was one of the first new restaurant projects to be announced after the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the ensuing shelter-in-place orders.
The pandemic hasn’t particularly impacted progress on the development, though, says Craig Workman of Workman Communications Group, the PR company handling Brett Hull’s Junction House.
“Back when they broke ground, the pandemic had just started, and the owners decided they had their financing, and they were going to proceed,” Workman says. “If anything, they were slowed down a little bit because of the weather, but it wasn't because of the pandemic.”
Horneker says the confirmation of Hull’s involvement had been in the works for some time. “We’ve been in talks with Brett Hull for about two years and are absolutely thrilled to have him come on board as a partner and add his name and the energy and excitement he brings to our already exciting venue,” he said in a statement. Hull is expected to attend the grand opening next month, and Horneker says the NHL’s all-time fourth leading goalscorer “plans to visit regularly with friends throughout the year.”
The venue will honor its namesake with displays of Hull’s photos and memorabilia. Patrons will also be able to keep up with the latest scores from the NHL and other leagues on the restaurant’s indoor and outdoor screens.
Workman describes the menu concept as casual sports dining. “There's going to be an upscale menu showcasing unconventional burgers and flatbreads, along with traditional bar cuisine like sandwiches and pizzas,” Workman says. Diners can also expect a number of Italian-inspired dishes. “This isn’t a hardcore Italian restaurant, but with the pizzas, pastas, and some of the other Italian-based entrées, there will be a little bit of an Italian flair to the menu.”
Among the drinks on offer will be signature cocktails made using Código 1530, the award-winning tequila that counts Hull as an investor, alongside other celebrity backers including country singer George Strait and former Denver Broncos coach Mike Shanahan.
F45 Training will have a gym housed in the same building. The gym is also expected to open in October. The project is just one of a number of new commercial and residential developments transforming the area just outside Wentzville informally known as The Junction.
“I’m excited to be part of such a great group and bring such a neat concept to the city of Wentzville,” Hull said in a statement. “As we bring our vision to life and share it with everyone in the community, I’m really happy I could help create jobs in these trying times. I can’t wait to relax out on the rooftop and enjoy some great food and Código cocktails with the great people of Wentzville.”
