Both fans of Greek food and those lamenting BBQ ASAP's closure got a pleasant surprise recently when temporary signs for Yiro/Gyro went up at ASAP's former location. A spinoff of A-List-winning The Gyro Company, Yiro/Gyro opened downtown last year and quickly became a lunchtime favorite. The restaurant is expected to open late this year or early next year.
Prime Time at Pietro's
The venerable Pietro’s on Watson Road is celebrating 56 years in business throughout October with a $5.95 special on a full strip steak or Chicken ala Pietro dinner on Wednesdays from 3–9 p.m. There will also be envelopes on tables for donations to benefit Our Little Haven, which provides early intervention services for at-risk children.
SeedGeeks is experiencing a growth spurt. (See what I did there?) Mark and Angela Adler started an heirloom seed company in their Brentwood back yard about two years ago and have since been selling through local retailers and at farmers' markets. This past week, they announced the purchase of 40 acres about an hour west of St. Louis, which will soon become their seed farm.
