When ReTrailer Tea launched in St. Louis five years ago, the name referenced its humble beginnings: tea sold out of a food truck-esque trailer.
Founder and proprietor Lisa Govro told SLM in 2014 that her initial goal for ReTrailer was to travel around the country selling teas. "Once I started establishing myself as a business, the complex nature of licensing a mobile business in just the City, let alone across the nation... well, I just couldn't imagine it. I started focusing on my wholesale sales."
Now, the tea company has rebranded with a name change: Big Heart Tea Co. The new logo and name is meant to be more representative of where the company is now, which has "moved way beyond the trailer days," says Sherrie Castellano, Big Heart's director of marketing. She adds that the new name suits the company's mission and aesthetic.
Since its inception, Big Heart has popped up at many St. Louis-area coffee shops and restaurants. You might recognize its flagship tea, Cup of Sunshine. It's hard to miss.
The bright yellow drink, which can be found as a delectable latte at Gerard Craft's Sardella, get its color from its main ingredient: turmeric. It was Big Heart's first tea created as a way to get turmeric into people's hands. The fact that turmeric became a trending healthy food—it's said to improve digestion, circulation, and is a natural anti-inflammatory—is a welcome coincidence.

Big Heart is also launching its newest product: Cup of Sunshine Dust, a powdered version of the tea. It's available online or at select shops and restaurants. Other popular Big Heart teas include Cup of Love, a blend of tulsi and rose; Royal TreatMINT, made with spearmint, peppermint, lavender, and tulsi; and its chai tea.
