Call it the pre-game show for Saturday’s Whiskey in the Winter Festival.
We are, of course, referring to the VIP Whiskey Dinner at the new Gamlin Whiskey House in the CWE. Owners Derek and Lucas Gamlin are co-hosting the event on Thursday, November 21, two days prior to Whiskey in the Winter (which Relish chronicled here and here).
Speaking at the event will be co-hosts Dave Pudlo, Maker’s Mark Distillery Education Director, and Adam Harris, Jim Beam Bourbon Ambassador.
Gamlin’s Corporate Chef Ivy Magruder and Corporate Pastry Chef Lisa Fernandez-Cruz created a 4-course menu to complement an appropriate selection of bourbons and whiskies:
Starter: Amuse Bouche
Appetizer: Booker’s Flame Grilled Oysters
Pairing: Booker’s
Salad: Bibb lettuce, applewood smoked bacon, Hooks Little Boy Blue cheese, and (rî)1 vinaigrette
Pairing: (rî)1 Rye Whiskey
Entrée: Maker’s Mark Bourbon and brown sugar flat-iron steak with apple-black walnut bread pudding
Pairing: Maker’s Mark 46
Dessert: Chestnut Crème Brulee with rosemary poached pears and a Meyer Lemon Macaron
Pairing: Knob Creek Single Barrel Bourbon
Tickets to the dinner are $75 and include a pre-dinner signature cocktail. For more information or to make reservations, click here.
