Options. On Valentine's Day, you gotta have options. Nothing more boring than giving the same gift as last year, whatever that was.
We suggest a little creativity, a little variety, and have just discovered a unique—and unisex—V-Day idea for just about anyone in your life: a bouquet of...bacon roses. Could anything possibly say "I love you" better than a warm bouquet of hickory- and maple-scented roses? They are surprisingly easy to make (directions here) and oh so versatile. Think about it: How often can you cook up a breakfast and insist that the centerpice be eaten as well? And don't carp about the high price of bacon...have you checked the price of fresh roses this week?

Not in a crafty mood? We understand. You should then consider the collaboration between Oh Sheila! Chocolates and Rolling Ridge Nursery. On February 11, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., visit the Webster Groves nursery and pick out a live plant and a box of chocoates from Sheila's ever-growing collection. Sheila will be on hand with free samples so you can even taste before you buy. Organic candles will be available as well. Add one to the basket or do some customizing yourself. The house plant should last a long time. The chocolates? Maybe a day.
