Euclid Avenue in the CWE: Think about it: Two hot restaurants have opened on this street within the last month--Gamlin Whiskey House and Cucina Pazzo, the former in Liluma's old space; the latter taking over for Duff's. Add them to freshmen restaurants Central Table Food Hall and Gringo (and the upcoming Evangeline's New Orleans replacing Coco Louco Brasil) and we're wishing we owned a parking lot somewhere along that 3/4 mile route.
'Tis the Season for...Gift Cards Restaurants sell the majority of the year's gift cards in the 30-day period between Thanksgiving and Christmas. They also know that many will never be redeemed, so many get especially generous this time of year. At Wild Horse Grill, purchase four $25 gift cards for someone else and receive an additional $25 card; at Jim Edmonds' recently opened The Precinct Bar & Grill, get a bonus $5 card for every $25 card purchased; at Sugo's in Frontenac (on Black Friday only), get $100 worth of gift cards and receive a $20 bonus card. Gift card deals abound this season, so it's quite possible your favorite restaurant has gotten into the holiday spirit. Give 'em a jingle and find out.
Axe the Old Accolades Restaurant reviews from 20 years ago... Fifteen-year-old "Best of" awards from local publications... Sorry, but none of them are worth the yellowed paper they're written on. Your walls deserve new decoration. We'd even prefer a velvet Elvis over the meaninglessness displayed now. Thank you. Thank you very much.
