Over the weekend, St. Louis Magazine went live with a completely revamped stlmag.com. Therein, the blog you're reading right now, the one that's given you an authoritative peek at the local dining scene, the one you've clicked on for restaurant openings, closings, scoops, and tidbits for the last two years—yes, FEAST—will be conspicuously absent.
For the last several months, there has been a lot of FEAST-ing going on around town, and like you, we found it all a bit confusing—not to mention off-putting. (Does St. Louis really need two food publications that share the same name?) So, rather than fight, scratch, dilute the brand, and contribute to the disarray, we thought we'd simply step away from it.
So we've re-named the blog.
SLM's food, wine, and spirits blog is now called Relish. To celebrate the change, we've added more professional voices and more content—like veteran restaurant critics Joe and Ann Pollack and the acerbic commentary of Bill Burge. Relish readers can expect more restaurant reviews, more critical opinion and observation, as well as more wit, wisdom, and, yes, snarkiness from our own Dave Lowry.
Over time, this blog has morphed into a resource that is not just informative, but fun and juicy and bouncy as well—and we wanted the new name to reflect all that. So we hope you'll enjoy Relish. We plan to pile it on.
Two final notes: Kindly bookmark the new Relish site: http://www.stlmag.com/Blogs/Relish/. And be the first to know the scoop as soon as we post it—subscribe to Relish's Twitter feed @stlmag_relish. — George Mahe, Dining Editor
