Ask anyone who's ever been serious in the restaurant biz and they'll tell you...it just gets in your blood.
Two veteran restaurateurs will soon reemerge onto the local scene hawking some very familiar products. John Rice (Redel's, Colorado, Space) and Lee Redel (yes, he's back) have partnered up again and will open Red L Pizza (get it?) in the teeny-tiny, hole in the wall space at 9769 Clayton Rd, formerly home to 3 coffee joints: LaDuzzi, Pony Espresso and Mario's.
The headliner will be the same pizza that Redel's Restaurant served for so many years, a thin-crust job topped with a blend of mozz and provolone cheeses. Four to five salads will be available as well, including Redel's famous chopped veggie salad...if you ever had it, you will remember it. Herb-roasted chicken will round out the pick-up only menu. Look for a mid November opening. -- George Mahe
