Beginning in January 2009, Kemoll's will move to the 40th floor of the Metropolitan Square building, into the space vacated by the Noonday Club. The U-shaped configuration will provide spectacular views in 3 directions. We hear that Kemoll's traditional and classic menu will remain in place, with a few tweaks and additions mandated by a new lunch menu.
Kemoll's has been operating on the ground floor of the Met almost since its opening in 1989. And for the last 3 years, the restaurant had supplemented its income by catering private functions in the swanky 42nd floor "Top of the Met." Cusumano confessed recently that it was those wedding parties and business meetings that helped keep the ship afloat. With this new contender for the "Best Restaurant View in the City" award, the pendulum may just swing in the other direction.
