The Post-Dispatch's Evan Benn suspected it, Relish just confirmed it: The Pasta House (at 313 Euclid in the CWE), shut its doors last Thursday, according to Kim Tucci, Pasta House President and co-founder. "That store slowly stopped attracting families--and we are a family-style restaurant," theorized the . "That area's more of a young person's destination now."
Several things continue to impress me about the Pasta House Co: Tucci's training program, where in seminars he equates a server's station as "your own little business" and develops scenarios showing how best to maximize it and make it grow. PH hostesses always thank the customer and often do so accompanying them to the door...costs nothing to do and is so effective. And The PH continues to give the public new reasons to return...a new pizza program, pastas for $8.88, daily specials, monthly specials, all supported by catchy radio spots where one-take Tucci boasts that "my partner Joe has done it again."
The Pasta House Co currently has 14 metro stores (plus 2 Pasta House Pronto locations), and 8 outside the Metro area. Tucci says the CWE store was a franchised unit and the franchisee would like to reopen it somewhere else.
