Greg Maggi has taken a temporary leave of absence from the daily operations at St. Louis Cellars Food and Wine. Sous chef Brandon Tonnies will handle the daily duties in Greg's absence.
Yet if you look at the website, any and all references to Maggi have mysteriously disappeared, leading one to believe that the decision is more than "temporary" and the rumor mill was starting to turn.
Owner Matt Williams cleared up the confusion, saying SLCF&W didn't want to misrepresent themselves, saying Maggi was on premise when in fact he was not. Maggi still remains partner in the business and good friend to the Williams'. --George Mahe
