This Thursday, from 6-8:30 PM, Brennan’s in the Central West End is hosting an event that does some serious multitasking: it will kick off a new menu that debuts in a week or so, show appreciation for customers, and debut Club Fromage, a new concept designed by owner Kevin Brennan. On Thursday, for $30 ($45 per couple), guests can sample select meats from Volpi; cheese from Marcoot Jersey Creamery, Baetje Farms, and Fox River Dairy, among others; and bread from Breadsmith, with several olive oil and balsamic vinegars for dipping, while mingling and listening to live music provided by Ptah Williams. Brennan said that seven or eight reps will also be on hand pouring samples from “higher-end” libations.
A ticket to Thursday’s event also includes your first month’s admission to Club Fromage. Since Brennan’s usually draws a later crowd, the owner explained that the club’s purpose, in part, is to encourage people to come in earlier and participate in some “heavy-duty snacking.” The monthly club fee covers all meat, cheese, bread, oils, and vinegars whenever you visit Brennan’s between 5:00 and 8:30 PM during that month. Yes, every time. With no contracts—it’s pay as you go—this might be the best tasting and lowest hassle membership you’ll ever have.
