If you like wine and you like chocolate (who doesn’t, really?), you’ll want to stop by Robust Wine Bar this Sunday, when the Webster Groves spot will highlight just how well your two likes go together by pairing international wines with products from 10 Missouri producers.
Yep, you read that right: 10 Missouri chocolate producers. (We didn’t realize we had that many, either.) Hence the event, dubbed The Art of Chocolate and Wine: “The goal is to intimately acquaint guests with local chocolate producers and their products,” said Robust co-owner Arlene Maminta Browne. Chocolate-lovers will be able to taste and compare chocolate from the likes of Kakao, RJ Chocolatier, Little Dipper Chocolate, Companion, Bissinger's, Mom's Originals, Oh, Sheila!, The Chocolate Affair, The Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate Co. and Café Cioccolato. Robust’s sommeliers will present 15 carefully chosen wines from around the world that pair well with the Missouri chocolates. (Locavores will be pleased to note that local winery Chaumette is among the selections.)
Even better, you’ll be lending a hand as you indulge: A portion of the event’s proceeds will go to College Bound, a local nonprofit that provides at-risk students the skills, tools and support needed to succeed in a college environment.
Tickets to the event, which will take place Sunday, January 22 from 1 to 4 p.m., are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Visit artofchocolateandwine.eventbrite.com to purchase advance tickets or for more information.
