On a day when red banners are flying all over downtown, a red flag went up in the Grove.
Crostini Restaurant & Lounge, at 4501 Manchester (the former Mia Rosa space) opened just under six weeks ago; its Grand Opening was on October 7. Yet when Relish paid a visit for lunch today, the place looked deserted: doors locked, no signs of life, unanswered phone, no voicemail.
Maybe they took the day off to go downtown to the Cardinals rally? Doesn't look that way...
Behind the bar, there was no liquor on the glass shelves and, even more telling, no tap handles on the beer taps. A neighboring business owner says the owner is renegotiating with the landlord. Efforts to reach owner Eric Winbigler for confirmation were unsuccerssful.
We're not saying Crostini is closed, but it's closed at least temporarily. More as we know it.
