Nathaniel Reid’s list of pastry accolades is substantial and long —long enough to make any chef boastful and cocky. This Farmington-born native is anything but...
Reid has been back in St. Louis since June, creating pastry wonderment at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis. His take on Baked Alaska was featured in SLM’s “Best Desserts in St. Louis” issue (below), and a SLM Q&A with him is here.
Wondering about that list of accolades? See below:
- One of 40 world-renowned chefs featured in The New Pâtissiers, published in October 2013
- “Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America” by Dessert Professional magazine in June 2012
- Competition judge at the 2011/2012 U.S. Pastry Competition in NYC
- Winner of the U.S. Pastry Competition Pastry Chef of the Year 2010 in NYC
- Guest chef at the Cirque Culinaire at the Peninsula Hotel in Tokyo.
- First Place, Best Chocolate/Confection at the Pastryscoop.com Golden Scoop Awards in 2009
- Third Place at the International Pâtissier Grand Prix in Tokyo in 2009 as a member of team U.S.A.
This month there’s an opportunity to check out the talents of one of the nation’s top pastry chefs, and help out the local Ronald McDonald House Charities. Reid is offering a selection of his confections, available at The Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis, through December 31.
A portion of the proceeds benefits the local RMHC. (Note that $15 gets donated for every copy of The New Pâtissiers purchased. The tome is impressive--a combination cookbook/coffee table book.)
