The “for rent” signs weren’t even down yet, but Ashley Morrison and Jackie Miller (left) were already moving things in and out of the former Vine restaurant over the weekend in preparation for their new Bella Vino.
Miller said the plan was for the space at 325 South Main Street in St. Charles (below) to be open by Thanksgiving. Given the name, it wasn’t surprising that Bella Vino will have a wine emphasis, and Miller added that the food would primarily be small-plate oriented.
It’s the first restaurant-ownership try for the pair, but they don’t lack experience: Miller has worked at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar in Frontenac (which has an excellent wine selection, boding well for her new endeavor); Morrison is an accountant by profession who’s been the general manager of Flaco’s Cocina in U. City.
