In the brand new October SLM, we give Harvest restaurant a special accolade. In the article, we referred to Executive Chef Nick Miller as sous-chef, an unintended demotion (Nick has a sous-chef).
Owner Steve Gontram reminded us that Miller has been with Harvest for 7 years and has been Executive Chef for over two. "He has written the menus, cooked the food, and managed the kitchen. All the food is his," Gontram admitted, deempasizing his role and giving credit where it is due. So much for egos in the kitchen.
What was the accolade that Harvest received? All we'll say is It's a doozie. The October SLM is hitting subscribers' mailboxes now and will be on newsstands by October 1. -- George Mahe
