Many people adopt rescue dogs. The rest of us? Well, we respect those people who do. There are hundreds of dog rescue organizations nationwide, dozens for every breed, but what about rescue cats? You never hear about cat rescue organizations...because there are very few of them. But there is a new one in St. Louis and next Saturday, February 27, Tenth Life Cat Rescue will be raising awareness and funds (along with a few glasses) at its first Trivia Night and Bake Sale.
Did I say bake sale? I meant to say BAKE SALE! The treats for sale and auction include cupcakes from Stefani Pollack of The Cupcake Project, chocolates from Brian Pelletier’s Kakao Chocolate, cookie baskets from Bittersweet Bakery, custom-created cakes from Sue Thrasher of Celebrating Life Cakesand Christy Leigh Augustin (former pastry chef at Sidney Street Cafe and current professor at Le Cordon Bleu St. Louis), plus items from Black Bear Bakery, Sweet Art, The Cupcakery, McArthur's Bakery, and Local Harvest Cafe and Catering.
For those of you who gave up sweets for Lent, beg for a one-night dispensation from your parish priest…preferably from the one who loves cats. – George Mahe
