Tropical mint smoothie
The local roaster and cafe opened two new locations in the area this year—one in Midtown and the other at Citygarden (in the former space of Death in the Afternoon). On both of those locations' menus, you'll find the staple strawberry banana smoothie. But we suggest something slightly more adventurous, such as the pineapple kale—or, before it's gone for the summer, try the seasonal tropical mint smoothie, made with mango, pineapple, fresh mint, and coconut milk. 3900 Laclede, Suite 1, Midtown. 808 Chestnut, Downtown.
This vegan restaurant in DeMun offers smoothies made with almond milk, coconut milk, or coconut water—and, of course, fresh fruits and leafy greens. There's no added ice or water. The bestselling smoothie is the Incredible, Seedz' version of a healthy chocolate shake. It's made with bananas, dates, almond butter, maca, cacao, and almond milk. You also can't go wrong with the classic strawberry banana or the blueberry banana (pictured above). 6344 S. Rosebury. DeMun.
The smoothies at this vegan cafe in DeBaliviere Place are hearty, colorful, and—if you dine in—served in a mason jar. Try such blends as the Healthy Dragon (pictured above), made with dragonfruit, pineapples, apples, cucumbers, dates, and almond milk; or the Anti-Inflammatory smoothie, made with turmeric, cinnamon, and ginger—all ingredients said to help with joint pain, stiffness, puffy skin, and more. If you're feeling extra rejuvenated after your smoothie, check out one of the cafe's donation yoga classes. 307 Belt. DeBaliviere Place.

Its bestseller is the Green Colada (pictured above), made with bananas, mangos, spinach or kale, pineapple juice, and coconut milk. It's a superfood smoothie, so it's packed with fiber, minerals, and vitamins. (And for on-the-go patrons, it becomes a suitable replacement for a full meal.) Another standout: the Orange Dreamsicle, made with fresh-squeezed orange juice, carrot juice, bananas, and mangos. 335 N. Euclid, Central West End. 4260 Manchester, the Grove.
