Lafayette 148 New York fashion director Edward Wilkerson will be at Neiman Marcus today (1701 Lindbergh, 314-567-9811) to meet with clients and for a one-on-one conversation with me about the 2016 spring collection.
Wilkerson was inspired by the sophisticated ease of New York City summertime verandas, terraces and getaways in a collection that embraces cool, urban elements. Designed in various shades of white, fabrics are lightweight and sheer with interesting details such as featherweight leathers, shimmery metallics and layered pieces. Throughout the line, Wilkerson draws on many of the most important and modern trends of the season: the elevated track pant; chic layering pieces such as vests, jackets and sweaters; skirts, pants and shorts of various lengths and lovely light dresses perfect for a St. Louis summer. The overall effect is one of lightness and brightness.
Lafayette 148 New York has been long known for its appeal to women of all shapes and sizes, and the brand’s loyal clientele responds to designs inspired by New York City, from the designer’s travels around the world, and his personal life experiences.
"Above the City" is today, April 14, from 2-4 p.m. Wilkerson’s fashion presentation and discussion will take place at 2:30 p.m. on level two at Neiman Marcus.
