Whitaker Homes built the 5,641-square-foot house in 2007 to raise money for the Dove Foundation, a St. Charles County charity that raises money for the working poor. More than 30 designers came together to design each of the home’s rooms.
The property is built vertically with five stories of living space. Cork flooring was used to cover every room of the house. Five bedrooms and seven bathrooms are located in the manse while an additional bedroom and bathroom can be found in the guest house out back. The kitchen is centered around a range that was important from England. Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves surround the library. The rooftop showcases 360-degree views of New Town St. Charles, including a front-row view of the neighborhood’s Grand Canal. Besides the guest house, there is a garden shed and four-car garage located in the backyard.
The Address: 3520 Galt House Drive
The Price: $899,900
The Agent: Joanne Balis, 314-677-6124,
