The lounge area in Hello Juice & Smoothie, near The Grove, whispers minimalism, but the bounty of pillows scattered along the shop’s wraparound windowsill hints of home. The melding of the two styles is what the owners, Jordan and Kayla Bauer, had in mind when they set out to build the relaxed hangout. Kayla, who spearheaded the décor, says the couple worked from a blank slate. “The space didn’t even have floors,” she says. The beehive light fixtures, the wicker chairs, and a range of plant species were sourced from local resale shops, Facebook Marketplace, IKEA, and Target. The Bauers have had no trouble collecting items. One of their most beloved finds? The shop’s tables, acquired from a former Mexican restaurant.
