Peek inside this Victorian and you'll find a blend of art and history. The renovated 1908-built home sits on a 10,005-square-foot double lot in Compton Heights and includes five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and two half-baths.
A mahogany staircase and stained glass window anchor the entry foyer. The first level has hardwood floors throughout the living, dining, and breakfast areas. The living room's fireplace and crown molding are original. The dining area has a lead glass window and a fresco frieze, which was painted by artist Henry Doellner in 1908. (The home's listing agent Dawn Griffin wrote on her website that the owner has only found "one remaining fresco work of [Doellner's] in the area." Original art isn't exclusive to the dining room, an abstract mural from contemporary oil painter Julie Malone can be found along the lower wall of the kitchen.
The second floor houses the owners’ suite and two bedrooms. The suite's sleeping porch has a beadboard ceiling and overlooks the backyard. The third floor houses the fourth and fifth bedrooms as well as a half bath. The back area includes a brick two-car garage and a tree swing.
